Please complete this form if you would like to make a legal agreement with us to adopt a new sewer, prior to its construction, under Section 104 of the Water Industry Act 1991. A £500 non-refundable deposit is required to cover the initial application costs. All additional costs incurred thereafter will be recharged to the applicant.

Important to note: the design and construction of your sewer
The adopted sewer will become part of our sewerage network and maintained at our expense. Charges depend on your specific site requirements. Our guidance notes above explain how we calculate the correct charges.
Section 104 of the Water Industry Act 1991 covers the adoption of new sewers prior to their construction. For sewers to be adopted under this Act, they must be properly designed, constructed and maintained.
You will be responsible for all costs associated with the sewer before it is adopted. When the sewer is adopted and becomes a public sewer it will be maintained by Thames Water at our own expense.
